I love to talk and anyone who knows me personally will back that up. So when I met my friend Jared Cohen at a coffee shop to catch up and we ended up talking about our struggles as coaches and how we work through issues AND he likes to talk just as much as I do, I knew we were on to something.
Jared and I were talking about how we wish there was a place where we could talk about the struggles of being a coach or teacher and how we work through them. You see, no one is perfect. I have a coach (it’s Jared, actually), and benefit from someone watching me move. Like many people, I seek the advice of those whom I admire and look up to because I know their wisdom can help me work through my own struggles.
Coaches need coaches too.
And with this idea, Jared and I created a podcast where we could discuss the struggles, philosophies, and evolving practices of coaching—being a coach, having a coach, and or any avenue of providing value for another individual that advances his or her life. Basically, we wanted a safe space where we could admit that we don’t have it all figured out.
Jared has a background in strength & conditioning, CrossFit, has studied with Andreo Spina and is currently studying for his masters in Sport Psychology. Between the two of us, the conversations are pretty interesting.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. No one really does – and I’m really looking forward to having conversations about how we’re all just doing the best we can.
I hope you’ll join us! Jared I covered what it means to be mindful, both in your physical practice and life, as well as more details about the 15-day Self-Care Startup Guide. You can download and listen on iTunes, Google Play or access the feed directly here.
