There are many things we have to do on a daily basis that may not be our favorite things in the universe. Having someone else to hold you accountable and ensure you get the task done is always better than having to rely on yourself.

Many of my blog ideas come when walking with Ella. Talk about someone relying on you for an activity! When 10am rolls around, there she is, wagging her tail, following my every move in anticipation for her walk. She needs me to take her out on a walk, and I need her to keep me moving. She holds me accountable for the minimum amount of daily activity for myself and for getting some fresh air and sunshine (and a blog idea on top of that!).

Getting yourself to the gym or yoga studio can sometimes be a struggle. There are always a million excuses for other things you could be doing rather than taking care of yourself, but if we don’t stay active, we won’t be here to take care of anything else! Getting your workout or yoga session in is the best thing you can do for your health, both physical and mental. Your stressful day can be melted away by a good savasana.

Regardless of if your task is a physical activity or not, start holding your self accountable for finishing all that you need to do. Be accountable for your actions by having a buddy who will keep you going, scheduling it into your calendar, or telling the world that you’re doing something. Try them all until you find what works best for you. There is no rule that we have to be personally responsible for doing all that we need to do…that’s why we have friends and family =).
